    It’s all about inclusion

Last week we talked about a new development in Singapore where people young and old can work and live together. Phyltime - https://www.phyltime.com/intro - does  something similar by providing an online platform for retirees to continue using and teaching their skills and expertise.
The platform is mostly used in Spain and Latin America and enables people to create their own network based on their interests and desires. Have a look and let us have your opinion.

    The search for beauty continues

Beauty doesn’t only sit in stuff, in nature, in art or craft. It also sits in concepts and ideas. One of these can be found in Singapore in Kampung Admiralty. The complex has 104 units for elderly people but everything around it – shops, healthcare, greenery – is for and from everyone.
Not only the style is well thought through but also the ideas behind it. Have a look here http://woha.net/

    In search of beauty

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Of course, there can be beauty in everything and even if you live in a favela or industrial zone you can do your best to find and see beauty around you. But it’s easier in a naturally beautiful environment.

So where to find beauty, where to find that sunset, this architecture, the art, the nature that motivates and inspires us? Any suggestions.

    9 November 2019 – Stuff

The trend to declutter and follow a minimalistic lifestyle seem not really to get a grip on the majority of us. We just like stuff. We do believe in quality and beauty though; less stuff but more beautiful tools, equipment, clothes and furniture. And we don’t like to waste things we’ve bought; more and more we appreciate durable and sustainable pieces. Check this one out for instance: https://www.1477reichhalter.com/en/impressions/

    2 November 2019 – Stay
We all travel - some of us travel every week, others only once or twice a year - but we all travel. Unless you’re travelling for work and have a corporate agency that makes your bookings, most people make their own reservations and ‘play-it-safe’. We often choose a no-nonsense hotel or other accommodation close to where we want to be to avoid nasty surprises. But surprises can be positive as well, here you will find some examples here

    Furniture

We all use furniture day in day out but not often do we give it a lot of thought. Just like with many objects in our lives, furniture needs to combine form and function. For us function always comes first; a chair needs to be comfortable, stable and sturdy. That’s non-negotiable. But that doesn’t mean furniture should be ugly or that it’s design can be ignored. Good design combines form and function and a good example can be found here http://www.josephwalshstudio.com/
