In designing our formula we – of course – have a keen eye on the competition. We wrote that before, so we looked at another organization that is offering interesting stays: https://www.stayonedegree.com/en. Not really our concept but nice.. very nice. We believe in ‘value for money’ and believe that quality means different things for different people. What say you? We welcome your ideas, links and feedback. The Neighbour

In designing our formula we – of course – have a keen eye on the competition. To find out what we can learn and to determine what we want to do different. On of the players on the field is https://www.sohohouse.com/. Members only which is not what we do and our idea of luxury is slightly different. We believe in ‘value for money’ and believe that quality means different things for different people. What say you? We welcome your ideas, links and feedback. The Neighbour Hard flooring – wood, tiles, marble – is practical. And cold. Especially in colder countries of course; you can keep your shoes on, wear slippers or thick socks to keep your feet warm. Or you buy a rug, for the sitting area, next to your bed or under the dining table. The Rugz Company reinvented the rug and for over 10 years is producing fashionable designs of high quality. Find them here https://www.therugcompany.com/row/ and let us know what you think. We welcome your ideas, links and feedback. The Neighbour Organic produce is good. Usually. First, it is not always clear what organic means and what are the conditions and criteria for growing and producing food to justify an ‘organic’ label. Second, I still see organic produce in supermarkets (certainly in Singapore were we spend most of our time) that is airflown. That seems to defeat the purpose… I think the most important is that you know your source of food, that it was produced with love, care, knowledge and attention, that it is fresh and didn’t have to travel long and far to reach your shopping basket. I would say that’s still better than anonymously produced organic food that has to come from far. What say you? We welcome your ideas, links and feedback. Let us know what you think. The Neighbour In his weekly editorial the founder of Monocle https://monocle.com/ talks about Beirut and how it has kept a lot from the past in good working order. He talks about the power of human contact in the service industry as well. Not all that is new, data driven and AI steered is good. A day earlier I read an interview with Geert Noels https://www.nrc.nl/nieuws/2019/03/22/we-moeten-af-van-groot-groter-grootst-a3954278; an economist and author of the book Gigantism who propagates the idea that we should stop with striving for more and bigger, instead focusing on better, closer, more intimate and more personal. Both our kind of thinking… We welcome your ideas, links and feedback. Let us know what you think. The Neighbour |
